Each month PeacePlayers Northern Ireland shares a cultural statement that reflects the core values guiding its work both on and off the court. Its cultural statement for September 2025 was "We value and promote diversity". Read the full blog below.
“Diversity is not only something we talk about in our day to day, but something we embrace and promote as an organisation working with young people across Northern Ireland.
“Our coaching team represents a variety of sporting, teaching and youth work backgrounds which brings fresh ideas and different perspectives to our programme delivery. Their varied experiences help us to connect with young people and create sessions that are dynamic, fun and inclusive.

“We’re also fortunate to be supported by a diverse group of funders who share our belief that sport and good relations have the power to unite communities. Their continued support helps us reach more young people and build lasting connections throughout Northern Ireland.
“We're proud to offer a range of free programmes designed to engage and equip young people at different stages of their life:
Bridging Divides Programme (BDP) for ages 8–14
Junior Development Programme (JDP) for ages 10–14
Leadership Development Programme (LDP) for ages 14–18
“Each programme provides unique opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop leadership skills and form lasting friendships. All of these programmes are currently recruiting, welcoming new participants who want to learn, grow, and make a difference in their local communities. Importantly, we offer free transport to remove barriers participants may face in attending our sessions.

“We pride ourselves in creating sessions that are inclusive and child-centred. Our coaches adapt activities to meet a range of physical abilities, while also being mindful of mental health and neurodiversity. Every young person’s experience and contribution matters, and our goal each session is to ensure they feel supported and valued.
“Through facilitating discussions on the importance of diversity, we help young people see that diversity is what connects us, makes us stronger and is a positive in every session. It’s what allows us to learn from one another, to build empathy and understanding, and to create lasting change.
“Children who play together, can learn to live together!”
