ConnectSport CIC is supported by a range of influential individuals, ranging from senior journalists and media executives to sport for development experts and academics. All are united by their belief in the power of sport to build a better world.

BOARD

ConnectSport CIC is supported by a Board of Non-Executive Directors, drawn from relevant sectors and industries, who oversee its strategic direction and purpose. The Board meets four times a year. Read more.

AMBASSADORS

Antoine Allen is an award-winning presenter and investigative reporter for ITV News, known for his impactful storytelling, fearless journalism and wide-ranging interviews with some of the world’s most high-profile figures. In 2025, Antoine made history by becoming the first-ever winner of the Sports Journalists' Association’s (SJA) Sport for Change Award, created in partnership with ConnectSport. Read more.

CONTRIBUTORS

Working in partnership with Universities, ConnectSport CIC supports and trains students keen to promote the positive social and environmental impact of sport. We also welcome submissions on 'sport for change' from other writers, especially those from less well-represented groups in journalism, for example people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities; disabled people, and women and girls. STAFF

ConnectSport CIC is led by founder and managing director Simon Lansley. Simon is an experienced strategic communications and public affairs executive focused on sustainable development. He has spent more than 30 years working with charities, brands, national and international governing bodies; government and intergovernmental organisations; national and regional media. This includes 16 years at the UK's national news agency, The Press Association, where he was Sports Editor and Editorial Director. Read more.
