Our Directors are legally responsible for the governance, strategy and financial oversight of ConnectSport CIC. They ensure the organisation delivers its mission, manages risk and operates in accordance with company law and our Articles of Association.
CATH BISHOP, CO-CHAIR
Cath Bishop is an Olympian, former British diplomat and leadership and culture coach. She brings strategic leadership, policy insight and national advocacy to ConnectSport, strengthening the organisation's governance, external partnerships and long-term vision. Cath also provides oversight of Board effectiveness, helping ensure ConnectSport delivers lasting impact through strong leadership and accountable decision-making.
DAVID GENT, CO-CHAIR
David is Chief Executive of Active Humber and oversees work with key partners across the Humber to get the region more physically active. He also chairs the national Active Partnerships ‘Climate Crew’ that is tackling environmental sustainability and climate change across its England-wide network. David represents Active Partnerships on a number of different environmental sustainability forums, both within and outside of sport – for example with the UK’s sports councils and DCMS.
JUSTIN COLEMAN, GOVERNANCE LEAD
Justin Coleman is a Director of Systemic Exchange Ltd and a specialist in contextual safeguarding, governance and organisational risk. He brings extensive expertise across criminal justice, the NHS and the voluntary sector, supporting ConnectSport's statutory governance, safeguarding, compliance and board oversight.
PROF ANDY LANE, IMPACT LEAD
Professor Andy Lane is Professor of Sport Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton and a Fellow of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). He provides strategic oversight on impact measurement, research partnerships, learning and evidence generation, helping strengthen ConnectSport's work through robust evaluation and academic collaboration.
TYRONE JOHNSON, YOUTH LEAD
Tyrone Johnson is Philanthropy Manager at The Way Youth Zone, Wolverhampton. He champions youth voice, participation and co-production across ConnectSport's work, helping ensure young people shape the organisation's direction while supporting the development of a Youth Advisory Panel.
