The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will host its first Olympism365 Summit entitled ‘Sport for a Better World’ on June 3-5 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Over three days, the Summit will bring together over 250 representatives from 100 organisations across the Olympic Movement, United Nations agencies, development and financing institutions, civil society, for-purpose business, safe sport community and IOC Young Leaders, working together to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through sport.
ConnectSport will bring you the latest news from the Summit. Focused on the contribution of sport and physical activity in the UK to sustainable development, it has published more than 1200 stories aligned to 13 of the 17 SDGs since 2017.
Building on the Sport for Sustainable Development Summit held in Paris on the eve of the 2024 Olympic Games, the event in Lausanne will showcase and celebrate the collective impact of sport and community initiatives supported by a growing network of partners collaborating with the IOC.
Organisers say it will provide a unique platform to “enhance collaboration, mobilise co-investment and launch joint action, culminating in further collective commitments and concrete action to advance sustainable development through sport”.
A public livestream of the plenary sessions will be available on this page enabling virtual attendance. You can also access the schedule and programme for the Summit here.
