Serving Inclusion: LTA Tennis Foundation teams up with Community Integrated Care

The LTA Tennis Foundation has announced a pioneering new initiative called ‘Serving Inclusion’ after partnering with one of the UK’s leading social care charities.

Community Integrated Care has been awarded one of the Foundation’s largest ‘scale’ grants to date, and the collaborative project will strengthen both the tennis and social care sectors by delivering inclusive programmes that promote skill-building, health, learning and social connection for people who draw on care and support.

ACCESSIBLE

The initiative aims to create a more accessible and welcoming tennis environment, which supports people of all abilities to get involved, stay active and feel part of a community.

“We are incredibly proud to award one of our largest ‘scale’ grants to date to Community Integrated Care for their visionary ‘Serving Inclusion’ project,” said Tom Gibbins, Head of the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Serving Inclusion 1

“This partnership represents a bold step forward in our work to make tennis more inclusive, accessible and impactful. We’re excited to see the transformative change this collaboration will bring to both the tennis and social care sectors.”

Community Integrated Care delivers over eight million hours of specialist care and support each year. The charity supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health concerns and age-related conditions.

AMBITIOUS

Through its programmes and partnerships, it works to tackle the health, social and economic inequalities faced by disabled communities, and has been named UK Care Innovator of the Year.

“Serving Inclusion is set to become one of the most ambitious social change partnerships in both the sport and social care sectors,” said John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care.

“We would like to thank and commend our partners at the LTA Tennis Foundation and the LTA for their passion for this partnership. We have been truly inspired by their commitment to contributing to a more inclusive society and openness to really pushing the boundaries of social change.”
