Preston-based Sensory Snooker has been named as a winner of the ‘Club of the Month’ by the Every Body Moves initiative, which is supported by Paralympics GB and Toyota.
Sensory Snooker offers the opportunity for people with complex disabilities and sensory impairments to play snooker in a more sensory and engaging way, adapted for their specific needs. Each activity is designed and delivered to reach individual desired goals and celebrate every achievement.
Designed in partnership between the national charity Sense and the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), the sessions have grown from the original pilot at Elite Snooker Club in Preston, to encompass locations across the UK.
Jake Williams, who is Sense’s Active Lifestyles Lead for the North West of England, commented: "It's been great working with Chris from Elite Snooker Club and WPBSA to get the session up and running.
“The group's enthusiasm and engagement at each session has been a joy to watch and I'm delighted that everyone's efforts have been recognised.”
