'Golf Fore Her' supports female participation

England Golf has launched a new webpage dedicated to supporting female golfers.

‘Golf Fore Her’ has been created to provide guidance and support on the many life stages of a female, from the basics to the impact on playing the game, and how playing golf could potentially help women in their lives.

Alongside England Golf’s Respect in Golf movement, which was launched in 2023 to drive inclusivity and accessibility in showing that golf is a game for all, Golf Fore Her is aimed at energising and inspiring the next generation of golfers.

England Golf Lead, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer Michelle McGill said: “We know that many females drop out of sport during the number of life stages that impact on their lives, but we also know that golf can have a positive impact through the physical benefits of moving and the mental health benefits of socialising and playing with friends.

“We want to raise awareness and support female golfers, and ensure that our 1700-plus clubs, 62 affiliated counties, and facilities, can use the information to support their current and future members and guests. The webpage is there to support them throughout these life stages and help them to continue to play golf.”

Having signed the Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration earlier this year, England Golf says it is committed to increasing female participation in the sport and creating a safe and equitable space for women and girls to play golf.

Golf Fore Her covers topics like the menstrual cycle, hormonal contraception, breast health, menopause, the pelvic floor and pre- and post-natal.
