The Team GB Foundation has published its first impact report, highlighting the crucial and much-needed role that Olympians and Paralympians can play in helping to drive positive health, social and environmental development.
The Foundation is the charitable arm of the British Olympic Association (BOA). Using the Olympic Values, its mission is to equip and inspire young people to improve their physical, emotional and mental wellbeing through the power of sport.
OPPORTUNITY
The report states that “at a time when there are more pressures on young people than ever before, we want to help address the worsening health and wellbeing crisis, beyond excellence in sport.”
David Ross, Chair of the Team GB Foundation, adds in his foreword: “The opportunity to harness the power of the Olympic Games to bring people together, inspire behavioural change and celebrate diversity has never been more crucial than it is today.”

The report highlights several programmes orchestrated by the Foundation.
‘Get Set’ is its flagship education programme, in partnership with ParalympicsGB. It promotes healthy food habits, environmental sustainability and positive digital inclusion. Almost three million children have been supported since 2015, and 383,318 in 2024.
‘Path to Paris’ used the inspiration of the 2024 Paris Games to support more than 1.7million young people to get active, and new charity partnerships with YoungMinds and StreetGames focused on mental wellbeing and creating opportunities in under-served communities.
MAXIMISE
The report reveals how, in the build-up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics, an annual day will celebrate the Olympic values each June 23. Furthermore, the Foundation has pledged to maximise its relationships with charity partners, national governing bodies and other national delivery partners – for example with athletes working directly with schools.
The report concludes: “We’d like to thank the many people and organisations we’ve worked in partnership with in 2024, and look forward to discovering the difference we can make for our nation’s young people together in 2025 and beyond.”
