The Commonwealth and ConnectSport CIC to support 2025 SDN Online Convention

ConnectSport CIC has partnered with The Commonwealth to support the 2025 Sport Development Network (SDN) Online Convention in September.

This free online event, entitled ‘Beyond 2030: Converging and collaborating to strengthen sport’s contribution to sustainable development’, will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 18th September and consider the following questions.

The potential for sport to make positive contributions to society is well recognised, and sport is acknowledged in the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as an important enabler to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

But with only 17% of the SDGs having been achieved so far, how can policy-makers, academics and practitioners across sport and civil society converge, collaborate and leverage private/public partnerships over the next five years? And what will be the role of sport in building a better world beyond 2030?

Further details, including the schedule and registration process, will be released soon.

Meanwhile ConnectSport will also be supporting the Community Sport Summit in Leeds on 16-17th September 2025. The University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University and Participate World, will bring together community sport leaders and practitioners to demonstrate the scale, impact and potential of community sport on individuals, on communities and as a powerful global movement for social good. Watch this space for more details soon.
