Campaigns target health and gender equalities

Two Sport England-backed campaigns targeting health and gender inequalities have been refreshed and relaunched this month.

This week This Girl Can launched its new ‘We Like the Way You Move’ advertising campaign, and on Monday 15th September, We Are Undefeatable will launch its Autumn campaign across TV on demand, billboards, hospital posters, and digital and social media channels.

We Are Undefeatable is a movement supporting people with a range of long-term health conditions, developed by 15 leading health and social care charities and backed by expertise, insight and National Lottery funding from Sport England. Access the campaign hub to find out how your organisation can support it.

ACCESSIBLE

This year the We Are Undefeatable app will also be launched. The app offers tailored, guided exercise programmes accessible anytime, anywhere. To find out more, contact weareundefeatable@ageuk.org.uk

We Are Undefeatable also recently announced its partnership with EFL in the Community. Together, they have delivered workshops to more than 30 club community organisations, equipping their teams with the knowledge and tools needed to better support those living with long-term health conditions.

We Are Undefeatable

Meanwhile this week saw the launch of the latest This Girl Can advertising campaign. Visit the campaign hub to find out how you can support ‘We Like the Way You Move’.

The new campaign is aimed at redefining how women getting active looks and champions women from under-represented groups. Thirteen women from across England are shown being active, from family bike rides, dancing in the kitchen, pregnancy yoga, wheelchair rugby, boxing and walking football.

EXCLUSION

The new phase of This Girl Can is rooted in research which found only one in 10 women from lower-income backgrounds feel they belong in the world of sport and physical activity. For women on lower incomes from under-represented groups – Black women, South Asian Muslim women, pregnant women, mothers with children under one-year-old and 55-74-year-old-women – the feelings of exclusion are even greater.

Sign up for a webinar on Wednesday 17 September (1100-1200 BST) to find out more about the new campaign. For any questions please contact thisgirlcan@sportengland.org
