Wolverhampton Cricket Club
Right at the heart of our community

Wolverhampton Cricket Club, based in Tettenhall, is one of the city’s longest-established and most respected community sports clubs. Located on Danescourt Road, the club sits at the heart of local life, providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in cricket, develop skills and build lasting social connections. The club describes itself as being “at the heart of our community”, with a strong commitment to inclusion, equality and diversity.

The club offers a wide range of playing opportunities through its senior and junior cricket programmes, helping young people and adults stay active, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership and resilience. Alongside cricket, the club serves as a social hub, hosting community events, celebrations and activities that bring residents together and strengthen community cohesion.

Wolverhampton Cricket Club aligns closely with the aims of the Sport for Change Wolverhampton initiative by using sport as a vehicle for positive social impact. Through accessible participation opportunities, family-focused activities and volunteer-led community engagement, the club creates welcoming spaces where people can connect, belong and thrive. Its commitment to grassroots sport helps support healthier lifestyles, reduce social isolation and foster a stronger sense of community across Wolverhampton.
