The West of England Sport Trust (Wesport) is a registered sporting charity as well as the County Sports Partnership for the West of England. We work across four Unitary Authorities that are: Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

We aim to help more people become physically activity so that they can enjoy the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle. We do this in a variety of ways including working with local partners to enable the delivery of nationally-funded sports programmes. We also support educational establishments in developing their delivery of sport and physical activity opportunities which helps to create fantastic experiences for children and young people to enjoy.

One example of a nationally-funded programme that we deliver locally is the School Games, this gives local young children an amazing opportunity to enjoy competitive school sport, which encourages children to be physically active. Our Active Workplaces Competitions are another example of the work we deliver. We organise competitions for workers to take part in sports such as Dodgeball and Badminton as we understand how physical activity can positively reduce the amount of absenteeism in a workforce, positively impact mental health, as well as creating a stronger team bond.
