Street League is the UK's leading sport for employment charity with a vision to see an end to youth unemployment. The charity offers eight to 12-week sport and work skills programmes to support unemployed 16 to 24-year-olds from disadvantaged communities.
On the programme the young people take part in daily health and fitness activities including football, rugby, dance and fitness, and spend time developing personalised action plans with one-to-one mentoring support, employability qualifications, CV skills and interview preparation. They have the opportunity to take part in work placements before moving into jobs, college courses, apprenticeships or further training, with ongoing support from the charity through the in-work support team.
In 2017, Street League supported 1731 young people into employment, education or training with 56% (566/1003) of them sustaining their jobs for more than six-months. Operating UK-wide in 14 cities and 38 local communities, Street League currently employs more than 140 members of staff.
The charity has gained a strong reputation for impact measurement and transparency, with its Three Golden Rules and #CallforClarity campaign contributing to winning the Third Sector Award 2017. This has further been developed with the launch of its real-time impact dashboard.
