Sports Media LGBT+ is a network group for professionals and newcomers from across the media industry who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, and for allies too.
Founded in November 2017, the group aims to bring together editors, journalists, broadcasters and media officers to communicate and share ideas; provide visibility and representation that helps sport become more inclusive at all levels; and amplify the voices of LGBT athletes, coaches, officials and other associated roles.
We seek to collaborate with other like-minded networks and organisations, and provide spaces for discussion, either by way of informal meet-ups, events or on our social channels. We operate a mailing list, contribute to media debate panels, and have strong connections with similar bodies in the USA and Australia.
If you want to raise your sports organisation's profile regarding its work on LGBT inclusion, or you've got an individual story to share, we're here to listen and help ensure those positive messages find the right audience. You can learn more about us on our website, or by dropping us an email.
