Preston North End were chosen alongside five other north west clubs in 1986 to set up a community department. Over 30 years on, known as the Preston North End Community and Education Trust today, the department has progressed into putting Preston North End at the heart of its community. From delivering fun, engaging sessions to primary school children, to getting more women and girls participating in sport, the Trust serves a purpose to empower individuals to improve their lives and their environment.
Our objectives are centred around; sports participation; education; health and social inclusion, and look to inspire, develop and sustain with the community at the forefront of our projects.
We are responsible for sending our players out into the community who will often support our programmes such as Walking Football, Premier League Primary Stars and the National Citizen Service Programme. It means that the players can engage with their community, and the community can feel empowered and inspired from meeting their heroes.
