Homeless Rugby CIC was founded in 2013 to tackle homelessness through sport. We aim to harness the value of the rugby community in order to support the most vulnerable in society. Bringing together charities, clubs and businesses, we endeavour to identify partnerships across sectors to help people affected by homelessness develop skills on the pitch that would benefit them off it.
We now have teams in Worcester (England), Glasgow (Scotland) and Newport (Wales), and we continue the search to connect with new partners to create new Homeless Rugby teams and benefits elsewhere in the rugby playing world.
The Homeless Rugby International Cup in 2017 had representation from Wales, Scotland and England for the first time. In 2018/19 we aim to deliver a truly international programme of homeless rugby training and development initiatives, engaging professional and amateur clubs along with homeless charities. We look forward to working together with all our partners, existing and new, to help #TackleHomelessness.
