Our three-year RugbyWorks programme exists to help teenagers excluded from mainstream education get into, and stay in, education, employment or training. As part of the curriculum, we work with small groups of young people in Years 10 and 11 at Alternative Provision (AP) schools.
Through a mixture of rugby and classroom sessions, our coaches seek to develop key life skills, such as teamwork, aspiration, communication and leadership, that young people need to thrive. Establishing trust and support is vital to our programme, as is making sure our participants are exposed to a range of work-ready experiences, including employability Days, workshops and CV building.
We’re nurturing young people who aspire to positive, productive futures. In Year 12, we offer one-to-one mentoring support to help teenagers as they move out of the AP environment and back into the mainstream system.
