ConnectSport CIC has launched a 'starter pack' for UK-based sport for development charities and organisations joining the social media app Blue Sky.
Blue Sky is proving popular for people and organisations who have left, or are contemplating leaving X - the platform which was previously known as Twitter.
ConnectSport is the not-for-profit Community Interest Company which works with UK Universities to increase awareness and investment for local charities and organisations using sport and physical activity to address key environmental and social challenges, ranging from crime and unemployment to physical inactivity and carbon-intensive behaviours.
Over the last decade ConnectSport used Twitter to connect with national and local organisations across the sport for development sector, and is gradually making the switch to Blue Sky.
Simon Lansley, Managing Director for ConnectSport CIC, commented: "We are mindful of how many different social media channels are available these days, and how this confusing landscape can present a barrier to small or medium-sized charities and organisations focused on delivery.
"However we have been impressed by the openness and connectivity of Blue Sky and believe it could prove to be a worthy successor to Twitter in helping local or grassroots organisations connect meaningfully with key stakeholders over the coming years."
Sport for development organisations new to Blue Sky are invited to follow and connect with ConnectSport via the app, so they can be added to the starter pack.
