Clubs come together to mark Children's Mental Health Week

To mark the build-up to Children’s Mental Health Week on February 3rd to 9th, six London football club community organisations came together to compete in a Premier League Inspires tournament.

Premier League Inspires is a personal development programme funded by the Premier League and Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) through the Premier League Charitable Fund.

The programme uses the power of football to inspire young people aged 11 to 18 to develop the personal skills and positive attitudes needed to succeed in life.

The theme of the tournament was on children getting to ‘Know themselves and grow themselves,' and the PL Inspires team took the opportunity to speak to teams about how they can build resilience, embrace self-awareness and form strong connections with others.

Teams from Fulham, Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, QPR and Charlton took part in the tournament at Fulham’s Motspur Park training ground.

Fulham under-18s player Ruban Khan helped to present medals to players at the end of the tournament, and commented: “I really enjoyed seeing what it’s like and what Fulham put on for the different communities and I really enjoyed helping present the awards and making their day better.”
