The DS Football Academy is a local community initiative designed to engage meaningfully with disadvantaged youths through a variety of peer group football coaching courses and activities.
Our Boyz 2 men programme uses sessions which are one hour of physical activity and 30 minutes of group discussion focusing on health, well-being, personal development and prevention.
Discussion topics:
Knife Crime - prevention/intervention.
Mental Health - getting conversations going to help reduce stigma and normalise, importance of prevention and early sign posting for young people to helpful services.
Drugs and Alcohol - the potential harmful effects and how to recognise addiction and how to help and sign post to relevant organisation.
